Parkes is the site of the Civil Independence Industries asphalt plant and the operating base for New South Wales works. The 140 tonne-per-hour batch plant produces hotmix and coldmix asphalt with 100 tonnes of hot storage, 24/7 production capability and an onsite NATA-accredited laboratory, supplying councils and civil contractors across Central West NSW.
